Anemia

Causes & Contributing Factors

Anemia is a common side effect of cancer and its treatments that is characterized by a low red blood cell count. Cancer and anticancer therapies can cause anemia by affecting the bone marrow’s ability to produce and destroy red blood cells – reducing the body’s ability to transport oxygen and produce energy.
