Inflammation
Causes & Contributing Factors
Cancer can cause inflammation by releasing cytokines (i.e. substances that trigger immune responses) and cancer treatments (e.g. chemotherapy, radiation therapy) can damage body tissues which cause inflammation. Inflammation is associated with symptoms like muscle weakness, decreased energy levels, decreased physical and mental performance, and sleep disturbances.
