Matthew Dhanushan completed his Bachelor of Arts at York University in Kinesiology & Health Sciences and a Master’s degree in Fitness Science at York University, with a concurrent certificate in Exercise Assessment and Prescription. Since graduating, he has been working as an exercise physiologist developing expertise in cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET). Working in various research and clinical settings, he has gained a strong understanding of the complex relationship between exercise and the human body.
Matthew has been an integral part of research teams at Sunnybrook Hospital and York University. He has acquired important experience working with various clinical populations, including individuals living with chronic health conditions, and has gained a strong understanding of the nuances and challenges faced by people living with chronic illnesses.
From 2022-2024, he worked as a teaching assistant and guest lecturer at York University, where he made an impact in supporting the educational development of students in the Health Sciences and Life Sciences programs. He supported courses in Human/Exercise Physiology, Anatomy, and Nutritional Sciences.
