Physical inactivity
Risk Factors
Modifiable / Treatable Factors
Lack of physical activity can lead to decreases in cardiovascular fitness and muscle mass, which directly contribute to fatigue. People living with and after cancer often experience negative symptoms and side effects of cancer and its treatments. These symptoms and side effects cause people to reduce their physical activity levels which leads to the development and worsening of fatigue. If untreated, a negative cycle of increasing fatigue levels causing further decreases in physical activity develops.
